YouTube offers an instant portal into everything weird, wacky and downright out there that the online world has to offer. The latest phenomenon sweeping the video-sharing site is 360-degree videos: yes, videos that let you glimpse the action from all angles and directions — not just where the camera is pointing.
Rectilinear projection, where the stitched image is viewed on a two-dimensional plane intersecting the panosphere in a single point. Lines that are straight in reality are shown as straight regardless of their directions on the image. Wide views – around 120° or so – start to exhibit severe distortion near the image borders. One case of rectilinear projection is the use of cube faces with cubic mapping for panorama viewing. Panorama is mapped to six squares, each cube face showing 90 by 90 degree area of the panorama.
Cylindrical projection, where the stitched image shows a 360° horizontal field of view and a limited vertical field of view. Panoramas in this projection are meant to be viewed as though the image is wrapped into a cylinder and viewed from within. When viewed on a 2D plane, horizontal lines appear curved while vertical lines remain straight.[9] Vertical distortion increases rapidly when nearing the top of the panosphere. There are various other cylindrical formats, such as Mercator and Miller cylindrical which have less distortion near the poles of the panosphere.

Bees are, like, super important to how our ecologies work. You probably learned all of this in elementary school, but have you ever seen the process, from beginning to end? The National Honey Board wants to show you, in 360. You’ll be a bee flying from flower to flower, then going back into the hive with the queen bee. After that, you’ll take a look at how they get the honey out of the honeycombs and onto your table. Warning: Tons of buzzing.
Unfortunately, there is one catch. If you want technical support, you need to pay. (And because there is a bit of a learning curve, there’s a good chance you’ll need to.) Support for the VSDC Free Video Editor costs $9.99 for one month and $14.99 for one year.
360-degree videos are typically viewed via personal computers, mobile devices such as smartphones, or dedicated head-mounted displays. Users can pan around the video by clicking and dragging. On smartphones, internal sensors such as the gyroscope can also be used to pan the video based on the orientation of the device. Taking advantage of this behavior, stereoscope-style enclosures for smartphones (such as Google Cardboard viewers and the Samsung Gear VR) can be used to view 360-degree videos in an immersive format similar to virtual reality. The phone display is viewed through lenses contained within the enclosure, as opposed to virtual reality headsets that contain their own dedicated displays.[6][12][13]
ScreenFlow (Mac) ► http://amzn.to/1wXZNPs – ScreenFlow is a fantastic video editor which also has the ability record your computer screen like Camtasia. For Mac users I highly recommend ScreenFlow. It’s easy to use, and it’s pretty affordable. I still use it to make a lot of my YouTube videos.

Video editing software is an application program which handles the post-production video editing of digital video sequences on a computer non-linear editing system (NLE). It has replaced traditional flatbed celluloid film editing tools and analogue video tape-to-tape online editing[1] machines.
Feature detection is necessary to automatically find correspondences between images. Robust correspondences are required in order to estimate the necessary transformation to align an image with the image it is being composted on. Corners, blobs, harris corners and Difference of gaussian of harris corners (DoG) are good features since they are repeatable and distinct. One of the first operators for interest point detection was developed by Hans P. Moravec in 1977 for his research involving the automatic navigation of a robot through a clustered environment. It was also Moravec who defined the concept of “points of interest” in an image and concluded these interest points could be used to find matching regions in different images. The Moravec operator is considered to be a corner detector because it defines interest points as points where there are large intensity variations in all directions. This often is the case at corners. It is interesting to note, however, that Moravec was not specifically interested in finding corners, just distinct regions in an image that could be used to register consecutive image frames. Harris and Stephens improved upon Moravec’s corner detector by considering the differential of the corner score with respect to direction directly. They needed it as a processing step to build interpretations of a robot’s environment based on image sequences. Like Moravec, they needed a method to match corresponding points in consecutive image frames, but were interested in tracking both corners and edges between frames. SIFT and SURF are recent keypoint or interest point detector algorithms but a point to note is that these are patented and their commercial usage restricted. Once a feature has been detected then a descriptor method like SIFT descriptor can be applied to later match them.
You can test it freely, there is no time limitation. The output videos will hold watermarks if they exceed 1024×512 pixel width/height. You need to purchase a license in order to have the watermarks removed:
If audio is an important factor of your video, you may want to consider using an external microphone – although built-in microphones do an okay job, it is hard to separate audio from white noise in an action video.
Several of the products here (Adobe Premiere Elements is a notable exception) still support 3D video editing if that’s your thing, though the this has been replaced by 360-degree VR footage like that shot by the Samsung Gear 360 as the current home-theater fad. As is often the case, our Editors’ Choice, CyberLink PowerDirector was the first product in this group to offer support for this new kind of video media. Other programs have jumped on board with 360 VR support, including Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut Pro X, and Magix Movie Edit Pro. Support varies, with some apps including 360-compatible titles, stabilization, and motion tracking. PowerDirector is notable for including those last two.
You can apply various visual and audio effects to your videos to achieve the necessary result. Since the number of available visual effect is very high, they are split into five categories for ease of navigation: color correction, object transformation, object filters, transition effects and special fx.
Professional software packages will demand more of your computer’s processing power so you just need to make sure that you are using a relatively new computer with decent specs. If you want to be 100% sure that your computer can handle the software, just look at the tech specs for each package which tend to change overtime. Also, I would recommend you take advantage of any free software trial periods on offer. The free trials are a great way to check if the video editing software is right for you.
APNG and GIF formats were added. The both formats enable to create videos with semi-transparence effect so that one can implement animation effects on web-sites. Quality of coded image was significantly enhanced due to dithering effect.

360-degree video is typically recorded using either a special rig of multiple cameras, or using a dedicated camera that contains multiple camera lenses embedded into the device, and filming overlapping angles simultaneously. Through a method known as video stitching, this separate footage is merged into one spherical video piece, and the colour and contrast of each shot is calibrated to be consistent with the others.[4][5] This process is done either by the camera itself, or using specialized video editing software that can analyze common visuals and audio to synchronize and link the different camera feeds together. Generally, the only area that cannot be viewed is the view toward the camera support.[6][7]

  1. Mount 6 GoPros on GoPro’s synchronized rig to record the whole 360-degree scene. Control every camera from one master camera, and be assured that you will be recording at the same time using the same settings for every camera.
Here’s a little tip that I just learned recently. You can mount your Ricoh Theta camera like you would any external USB device by holding down the wifi button and the shutter button on the camera, at the same time that you connect the camera to your computer. It sounds like you’d need three hands for that… so good luck. 😉
